Are home inspections required?
Home inspections are not required in most states. This does not mean that you do not need a home inspection. A home inspection is your best protection against costly repairs after you move into your home.
The inspectors at Metro Boston Property Inspections will let you know what is functioning properly, those components that require maintenance, the components that require significant repair, replacement, or an upgrade to current standards of safety and habitability, and those that are safety hazards. They will also make recommendations as to the appropriate contractor for the job. Even in new construction that will be inspected by the building inspector, a home inspection can reveal issues that do not concern the public building inspector.
A Metro Boston Property Inspections home inspection is more than just a list of repairs that need to be done. We will also educate you about the way your Systems work and important items you need to know. We will show you where your main water shutoff is located, where the cleanouts for the drain pipes are, the location of the main electrical disconnect, how to operate your kitchen appliances, how to operate your thermostat, and more.
Even though the inspection is not required, what it provides is too valuable to ignore. If you are buying a home, get a home inspection.
